This project was created in collaboration with Lapidus Interactive.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world's largest humanitarian network that reaches 150 million people in 192 National Societies through the work of over 13,7 million volunteers.
We partnered with the IFRC to help them provide data insights about National Societies, such as number of volunteers and blood donors, as well as financial information through IFRC's Federation-wide Databank and Reporting System (FDRS). .
We created a fresh new interface for FDRS that allows national societies to visualise key performance indicators by country and to compare data across national societies.
Data can be explored by indicator and viewed on the map or in a filtrable table showing trends over time.
FDRS was published in 4 languages.
FDRS was structured to provide data both at a global as well as at a National Society levels. The user can visualize any available indicator over time on a global map as well as in a sortable table format.
At a local level, we created profiles for each national society to show relevant highlights and key statistics. The profiles include customised visualisations on financial data (such as income or expenditure) and impact. They can be viewed online, or downloaded as pdfs.
Examples of mobile adaptations
For the visual design of this app, we adopted a clean look with a minimal colour palette and used red as an accent color, in line with the classic IFRC aesthetic adapted for the web.
Country profiles feature cards with key numbers and charts.
